Baboosic Lake Town Beach- Information, Beach/Boat Passes, and Boat Storage

Bring the whole family for a game of volleyball on our sand court, play on the playscape, build sandcastles, enjoy lunch on our picnic tables under the canopy of the pines, rent a kayak or paddle board, register for swimming lessons or just enjoy a warm summer day on the beach.
Our well-trained staff is ready to make your day at the Amherst Town Beach the best day of your week!
Hours of Operation:
The beach will be staffed weekends beginning Memorial Day, and opened for the season June 15-September 1, 2018.
Saturday and Sunday 10am-7pm
Daily Gate Fee:
Residents $4 ages 12+, $2 ages 3-11
Non-Resident Fee: $8 ages 12+, $4 ages 3-11
Ages 2 and under Free
Amherst Residents age 65+ free
Please note that children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
We have SUPs (Stand Up Paddle Boards), Single kayaks and Double Kayaks available for rent. The fee is $5 for one hour. There is no reservation system and they are first-come-first-served. All renting boats must either have a Beach Pass or pay the daily gate fee. Life vests are included with the rental and are required to be worn. Please see the rules and guidelines for boat rentals below.

Pass intended for use by immediate family and regular caregivers for the entire season. Passes are purchased online and will be available for pick-up at the gate. Physical passes are not necessary for pass holders to gain entrance- once a pass is purchased, the family is on the roster and may visit the beach during open hours!
There is a one-time $10 discount for families registering for swim lessons and a one-time $15 discount for families registering for swim team. Discounts are only available by calling into the office for assistance before processing purchase. Account credit will be issued in the case that the Beach Pass has been purchased before calling into the office for assistance.
Unlimited Boat Rentals with Beach Pass, $5 per hour per boat without the pass
$75.00 for all
Unlimited use of our 8 paddle boards and 6 kayaks for everyone in your immediate family and regular caregivers. Boats go out for one hour at a time, and include the use of our Coast Guard certified life vests (required). The last boat rental time for the day is 6:00pm.
A one-time waiver must be signed each year for those intending to rent boats. This year the waiver is electronic, and the link can be found below. A waiver must be completed for each adult and on the behalf of each minor intending to participate.
We allow only Coast Guard approved flotation devices for non-swimmers.
NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT BABOOSIC LAKE. There is NO FISHING on the Town Beach from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Thank you for your compliance.
Non-motorized boats may be launched from the designated area on the Town Beach.

Baboosic Lake Boat Storage- 2018
We will be offering on site boat storage for your convenience. These racks will be big enough to store canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. Boats can be stored from opening day, up until the Monday of Columbus day weekend. Only 12 spots available. Available to Amherst residents only.
Boat Rental Rules
Rules and guidelines for boat rentals at Baboosic Lake Town Beach:
• Patrons who are under 13 years old must have an adult with them when renting a boat. The adult can be in a separate boat but must be within 50 feet of the child's boat.
• Blue SUP- Only one person on a blue SUP
• Red SUP - One person only. A child who is under 50lbs can ride on a red SUP with an adult but they must be sitting or lying down on the front of the boat.
• Blue Kayak -One person per boat
• Double Kayak - Two boaters only
• All boaters must wear a properly fitted Personal Flotation Device for the entire time you are on the water. Failure to do so may result in loss of boating privileges.
• When on the water please stay within 30 feet of the shore. Do not float in the middle of the lake as it is hard for bigger boats to see you.
• Please stay off of all shoreline and docks as this is private property.
• Please stay out of Washer Cove.
