Enchanted Folklore, Aug. 28- Sept 1, 9AM-12PM, $180 plus $10 supply fee

Did Cinderella wear glass slippers or gold slippers? What was in Little Red Riding Hood’s basket? Did you know that many popular fairytales are derivative of other cultural folklore, some dating back centuries before the tales that gained the most notoriety?  Using a few examples, we will compare and contrast key details throughout history and cultures and examine what makes a good story. Your child will collaborate with the group to create a unique tale with familiar characters and story lines to be performed at the end of camp. We may have our very own version of an Into the Woods..






  • Camp will be held at PMEC. We may spend some time outside if weather permits.


  • Drop off and pick-up details will be provided the weekend before the camp.


  • Please bring a refillable water bottle and hearty snack


  • Dress for movement and action


  • Tee Shirts are included for all Campers!


  • Space is very limited- 20 students total per camp

Instructor
Lucy Spencer has been singing and acting for 25 years. She earned a BFA in Acting from Texas State University at San Marcos, during which time she also took a year abroad to study theater at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). Lucy is actively enrolled in the Equity Membership Candidate Program. Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Zach Theater), Little Becky Two Shoes in Urinetown (Zach Theater), Marina in Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Different Stages). Other notable work includes voice-over recording work for award winning composer, Michael J. Lewis and featured performer in a musical review of original works by Adam Overett.
Lucy Spencer has done private and production vocal and dialect coaching and specialized Shakespearean language and performance coaching.
