This class will introduce you to the basics of watercolor through experiments with color, consistency, mediums, additives, tools and technique. We will begin to build an Artist’s Notebook, which is like a lab book that scientists use, but for paint.
You will provide your own materials for this class. There are some basic requirements, but the investment you make is up to you. This class meets you “where you are at” = you can bring the watercolor painting supplies you already own, no matter if they’re Crayola or pro grade.
Necessary supplies include: Watercolor paint, brushes, palette, paper, and towels. Also a pencil and ruler. We estimate that you can buy all the materials for as little as $15, while a recommended set will be around $24. After you register, Sarah will email a detailed list of supplies and recommendations. She will be providing some additional items for the experiments.
Fee: $60 per 4 class session
When: 3pm–4:30pm Mondays 10/23, 10/30, 11/6 & 11/20.
Please note there is no class on 11/13 since school is not in session that day.
