A creative arts class for older adults that focuses on exploring a variety of art materials and creating a different art piece each class. The instructor will assist participants with guidance and exploration of the various art materials. This is not a formal art instruction class; each participant will have the opportunity to create and use the art materials in their own way. No prior art experience needed or required. Just a willingness to create, explore art materials, have fun, and socialize!

Meet your Instructor!
Holly recently joined the Amherst community in 2018, moving to the area with her husband, daughter age six, and son age four. Holly holds a master’s degree in art therapy and counseling and is a licensed counselor and board-certified art therapist. Over the past 20 years Holly has provided art therapy, counseling services, and numerous creative art experiences to individuals and groups of all ages. She values the use of the arts as a tool to support emotional growth, socialization, and individual expression across the life span.
Holly enjoys being creative in a variety of ways, playing with and creating art with her children, gardening, cooking, hiking and spending time at the beach and in nature.
How to Get There
- Enter through the Bean Community Room Doors (sign will be outside)
- Head through the double doors in the back of the room to the elevator
- Go up to the 2nd floor
- Activity Room will be straight ahead
