Afterschool Art at Wilkins Register View Cart

Join us for some art time after school! Over the course of this class participants will explore a variety of art materials, through a combination of structured art activities and open studio art time.  All artist abilities welcome. Participants will bring home their art creations each week. 

Open Studio Time
will include:
Watercolor paints, fine tip markers, stencils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, variety of papers, craft items, stamps, drawing materials, and building materials. 

Structured Projects for this session include:
Make your own tote bag (using fabric paints, stencils, vegetable printing and more!)
Make your own drawing notebook (using collage, scrap booking, stencils, drawing materials and more!)
Salt water paintings and or Zen tangle style drawings

Meet your Instructor!
Holly recently joined the Amherst community in 2018, moving to the area with her husband, daughter age six, and son age four. Holly holds a master’s degree in art therapy and counseling and is a licensed counselor and board-certified art therapist. Over the past 20 years Holly has provided art therapy, counseling services, and numerous creative art experiences to individuals and groups of all ages. She values the use of the arts as a tool to support emotional growth, socialization, and individual expression across the life span.

Holly enjoys being creative in a variety of ways, playing with and creating art with her children, gardening, cooking, hiking and spending time at the beach and in nature.
